Wat is AMP (Accelerated Mobile Page)?
What does an Accelerated Mobile Page look like?
An AMP is a completely stripped HTML version of your web page, leaving only text and images. Even the menu is removed.
To do this, Google has introduced its own open source framework.
With all the new technologies of today, many web pages contain all kinds of various JavaScripts, iframes, external fonts, etc. By creating a stripped HTML version of these web pages and omitting such extras, the loading time is improved enormously.
Below you see an example of a blog article as AMP and as a responsive version on the website of our technical partner Webbouwers.com.
This can also be viewed here:

When a search is performed and AMPs are shown, this will happen in a carousel at the top of the search results.
Who are Accelerated Mobile Pages interesting for?
Accelerated Mobile Pages have been seen for some time as the greatest opportunity for entrepreneurs to achieve good positions in the Google ranking online.
Google has announced that they will first focus on news websites and blogs. If your website contains news items and/or blog articles, this development is very interesting for you.
If you do not use such pages, wait a while to see whether Google will continue this trend for other web pages.
Knowing Google, this line will naturally continue and you will ultimately have no choice but to follow.
